Vegetation Foreman [New Zealand]


 

The Top Energy Group operates throughout the Far North delivering geothermal electricity generation and electricity network operations. We are enabling Northland to contribute to the decarbonisation challenge by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.

We are seeking a self-motivated, outcome focused Vegetation Foreman, whose primary responsibility is to lead field crews in carrying out vegetation clearance work around power lines during regular scheduled maintenance, or fault response operations.

This position will report to the Vegetation Supervisor and will be based at our Puketona site.

Key areas of focus will be:

  • Being responsible for field crews on worksites, and supporting the needs of the business
  • Assist with tree work to achieve line clearance, identifying any risks involved, and ensuring expected relevant standards are met
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to provide information, eliminate issues and achieve solutions
  • Maintaining safety standards to a high level, continuously evaluating procedures and practices, whilst actively promoting Health and Safety within all areas of the business
  • Encouraging team development and support individuals training plans
  • Ensuring correct operation of vegetation plant and equipment is upheld, as well as servicing machinery and safety equipment

To succeed in this role, you will have proven leadership experience and be able to demonstrate strong arboricultural skills and experience to support a diversity of work types. An extensive understanding of relevant Codes of Practice is required, along with advanced knowledge of the Hazard from Trees Regulations 2003. The successful candidate must hold a full, clean Drivers Licence, including a class 2 licence, and hold or have held a Close Working Zone certificate.
